Focus will be put on making the ostomate more visible to the public along with educating ostomates, their family members, professionals in the health industry and the public. We will listen to the needs of ostomates and improve our dialog with the health industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Our creed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211;\u00a0<i>Meaningful life with an ostomy &#8211;<\/i><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Icelandic Ostomy Association (Isilco) was founded in 1980 and has\u00a0approximately 300\u00a0members. Our members are mainly\u00a0concentrated in the capital area but there is also a branch in\u00a0the Northern part of the country. Isilco is governed by a board\u00a0of five members each elected for a period of two years.<\/p>\n<p>ISILCO is a member of the Icelandic Cancer Society\u00a0and also\u00a0the Organization of Disabled in Iceland.<\/p>\n<p>In Iceland all ostomy\u00a0appliances are free of charge.
